Entertainment for twenty and thirty year olds.
Many bars in all areas, predominately Spanish in town (plus Irish bars) but multicultural in the urbanisations outside town, particularly south along the N332 through Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, etc. Spanish pubs and clubs are welcoming as long as you don't be the stereotypical Brit lout abroad. Monroes, Correcaminos, Shannons and Durrty Nellies are town bars worth visiting.
Go to the water fountain on the promenade road by the harbour. In the roads behind are loads of bars, plus a few disco's, catering for young people. It only hot's up after 11pm and then its packed. The streets are closed off in the high season and there must be a dozen disco pubs who put their tables and chairs on the streets. Then you could go to Lancelot, la Facultidad, and La Galeria , located on Avda de las Haberneras / "Old Alicante Road". Near the Aquapark, just behind the Avda Los Corte Valenciana (in the industrial area) is KKO, Dr Hooks and the biggest Pacha (club) in Spain with foam parties and other special events. A searchlight shining into the sky shows you where they are located!
Don't go in illuminated sign "Night Clubs" - they are brothels!!

Be aware that if you go clubbing and want a taxi at 4am in the morning, you could struggle BIG style. Torrevieja taxi drivers don't seem to want to work nights and there are no official minicabs so you might have some long walks.

And don't miss the Blues Brothers at the Temple Bar in Flamenca Beach Commercial Centre (4 nights).

Entertainment for children and youngsters in the winter
Torrevieja has, in recent years, grown to be one of the most popular and important centres on the Mediterranean for residential tourism. No "package" tours come to this area. However, because of this, entertainment for children and youngsters, who do not indulge in the great "bar" life here, is limited when the weather is not suitable for the beach or swimming pool (normally October through to May). Although the weather can often be around 10 degrees or more in the daytime in the winter months, a wind chill factor can often make it quite chilly. People who say that we have 320 days of sunshine a year aren't actually lying, although it might not be sunny all day, but you can have sunshine and not be very warm.

Most areas in and around the town centre, where the population are mainly Spanish, are often quite desolate in the winter, particularly in the evening. Many Spanish restaurants close in January and February to have their holidays as they cannot close in the summer. Most "ex-Pats" such as the British, Irish, etc, live in the suburbs south of Torrevieja. However, nightly entertainment is again based around restaurant and bar life as is limited in the winter.

For the winter months, there is ten pin bowling with amusement machines, Parque of Nations (fixed slide, reptiles, etc). Some boats trips may still operate in good weather from the harbour and there is an afternoon and early evening craft market on the town promenade. There is a Municipal pool/Municipal Sports Centre.

For children, we have to admit that places such as Benidorm may be more suitable but still have limited facilities for youngsters.

Taxi's
Although not classed as a full "package tour" area, the taxi service has improved recently but there are not hundreds touring the streets with green lights on.

Ring Orihuela Costa Radio taxis on 966 761 088 if you are in the Orihuela Costa area. (Put 0034 in front if using a non Spanish phone). They have got various waiting areas including at La Zenia roundabout, at Flamenca Beach Commercial, etc.

Ring Torrevieja Radio Cabs on 965 712 277 or 965 711026 if you are in the Torrevieja area. (Put 0034 in front if using a non Spanish phone). There are also taxi ranks by church, by police station opposite Carrefour, by the bus station, by fountain on main promenade, etc. Numbers are in the house books that we put in each property and also on many lamp posts.
