Children allowed, no pets allowed.
Access for elderly / disabled / wheelchair users – 6 steps up to house front door. Internal layout over 2 floors. 2 bedrooms and bathroom on ground floor. Therefore suitable for elderly people with no walking problems and possibly for disabled or narrow wheelchair users if steps can be negotiated.
Beach towels not included.

Important when sleeping more than 6 people: Please note that the glazed sun room does get very hot during the summer months and cold in winter. Bear this in mind when considering using the cabinet style fold-out single beds for seventh and eighth persons unless moving one or both beds into the first floor bedroom. Due to the size and weight of the cabinet style fold-out single beds , it is not allowed to take the beds down the stairs to the lounge or ground floor bedrooms. Also the dining room seating, lounge room seating, water heater capacity, etc, caters mainly for a maximum of 6 persons.

DESCRIPTION OF THE LOCAL AREA

Los Balcones is in the area of Orihuela Costa, is less than a 10 minutes drive south of Torrevieja and is on a main bus and taxi route. It has a very multicultural feel as many people from other countries now live in this area.

300 metres, or a few minutes walk, to a 24 hour garage with SuperCor shop. Handy for the heavy items if you don't have a car.

Less than 10 minutes walk to a Chinese restaurant, chemist, DVD hire shop and some other shops.

10 minutes walk to a large supermarket, 2 floor commercial centre with about 10 bars and restaurants and other shops, plus more bars and restaurants in surrounding roads. New commercial centre under construction.

20 minutes walk (or 5 minutes by car) to the start of the "European" area at Punta Prima with numerous bars and restaurants of different nationalities, supermarkets such as Aldi, MasyMas, Champion and after 2 more minutes drive, the Flamenca Beach Commercial Centre, the largest in the area with about 60 bars and restaurants, Lidl and Supercor supermarkets and the go-kart track. There is a popular market on every Saturday morning in a wide road in Playa Flamenca.

The house is 100 metres from a main line bus stop which goes frequently to Torrevieja town centre and hence to the marina, promenade, harbour fun fair, nightly craft market or to the outskirts where you will find Carrefour hypermarket, Habernas shopping centre (H&M, C&A, Zara, Bershka, etc), McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, ten pin bowling, amusement arcade, casino, etc.

20 minutes walk to the sea (rocky coastline) including Calle Ferris, a nearby sandy cove with palm trees. The main road leading to the sea does not have pedestrian paths in some parts (difficult with a push chair) and several busy roads need to be crossed so care is needed. Preferable to use a car if available (2 or 3 minutes drive). The main bus into Torrevieja via the hospital could be used just for several stops.

In the direction of Torrevieja, 35 minutes walk (or 5 minutes by car) to the EU Blue Flag beaches of Playa de Los Naufragos followed by Playa del Acequion. Water sports and diving pontoon in the summer months plus the usual "bars on the beach".

In the opposite direction from Torrevieja, into the "European" area known as Orihuela Costa, 30 to 40 minutes walk (or 5 minutes by car) to the EU Blue Flag beaches at Playa Flamenca and La Zenia. They have vast expanses of golden sands and there are jet-ski's, a banana boat and pedalo's in the summer months, as well as the usual "bars on the beach".

10 minutes drive, or 7 km to Torrevieja town centre, marina, harbour, Carrefour, Habernas shopping centre (H&M, C&A, Zara, etc), McDonalds, ten pin bowling, casino, etc.

10 minutes drive to the golf courses of Villamartin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas.
